2015 saw the introduction of a flexible buckle for the center seat as well as an adjustable & removable center head restraint (before the head restraint was fixed and protruding in the center seat).
All head restraints are removable by pushing 2 buttons.
The innermost lower anchors (belonging to the side seats) are spaced 18.1 inches apart and may be borrowed to install a car seat in the center so long as the car seat manufacturer is OK with this wider spacing (standard spacing is 11 inches). The Edge & MKX were first introduced for 2007.
The seat belt buckles for all 3 seats are rigid, and angled forward – this makes installing a car seat with the seat belt more challenging. 2C is even more inhospitable as it is narrow. We’ve found that infant seat bases tend to work better than any other type of car seat in 2C. Of the convertible seats, the Clek Fllo works nicely in 2C (so long as the driver is not exceptionally tall).
