The C-HR is a new compact SUV from Toyota for 2018. The center seat is completely unusable – it is too narrow for any car seat or booster… and while Toyota allows borrowing of the innermost lower anchors to install a car seat in the center this in practical terms won’t work as 1. car seats typically won’t install securely when placed on rigid buckles, as will happen in the C-HR’s center seat and 2. the lower anchor straps will cross over the buckles for 2D & 2P, likely preventing the use of the side seats which are clearly the most functional of the seats in back.
Families buying this car should buy it with the understanding that it has only 2 seats in back and that kids/adults/any combo of these will need to sit on either side and the center will remain empty.
