The Murano was redesigned for 2015 – and earned a Top Safety Pick + from IIHS. It has a wide back seat with a wide center and no seat belt overlap – making it a good option for a 5 seater SUV that can accommodate 3-across. We wish the center head restraint were taller (it won’t be high enough for most adults to protect them from whiplash).
The Murano was not produced for 2008. The tether anchors for 2D & 2P remain on the back of the vehicle seat – and now 2C’s is on the back of the vehicle seat as well (instead of at the tailgate sill).
The Murano was first introduced in 2003. It has shoulder belts and head restraints for all seating positions. 2C tether anchor on tailgate sill (floor – right where trunk door opens). 2D & 2P tether anchors on back of vehicle seat. 2C’s tether anchor interferes with use of the trunk for cargo.
