The Armada was not produced in 2016. The vehicle is the same as the older model except for the 2D & 2P tether anchors are now on the vehicle seat, not on the vehicle’s side wall.
This vehicle is exceptionally ill-suited for families – it is a massive vehicle with a horrible set-up for kids in car seats. There are only 2 tether anchors in the 2nd row – even in the model with the 2nd row bench (there is no tether anchor for 2C). There is no “car seat safe” tilting feature to allow 3rd row access (a feature found on the 2018 Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator). The 3rd row in this vehicle is really shallow – and only has 1 tether anchor which is in 3C which is basically useless as 3C is too narrow to fit most car seats, and those that do fit will sit too close to the roof.
The vehicle is offered as a 7 seater (captain’s chairs in 2nd row) or 8 seater (3 person bench in 2nd row). The 3rd row is identical in both versions.
The 04-15 Armada/QX56 is the same as the 2017 & newer models of these vehicles, except the tether anchors for 2D & 2P are located on the floor against the side of the vehicle under a cutout in the carpeting – in contrast to the 2017 which now has the 2nd row tether anchors in a more normal position on the backs of the vehicle seats. For pictures of the 2nd & 3rd row, please see the newer model year range (the one that includes 2018).
