Jeep Grand Cherokee

2011-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Grand Cherokee was redesigned for 2011.

It now has rigid buckles that are angled sharply forward in all 3 seats – which can make it challenging to get a secure installation with quite a few forward-facing car seats. You’ll want to use our double seat back recline trick here if installing a forward-facing car seat with a seat belt. The head restraint in 2C is too short for most adults.

Most convertible seats installed rear-facing in 2C will prevent the driver’s seat from coming back all the way – as 2C is skewed a little bit towards the driver’s side (it is not dead center). The Chicco Fit2 is a great choice for a rear-facing-only seat that works in 2C and will allow the driver & front passenger seats to come all the way back. The rear-facing Clek Foonf will allow the driver’s seat to come almost all the way back when installed in 2C – and will fit rear-facing in 2D behind a taller driver as well (this is important because for taller kids rear-facing in the Foonf you’ll need to move Foonf out of 2C as it will become a visibility issue out the rear view mirror). In fact, you can get 3-across with rear-facing Foonfs.
