Redesigned for 2018, it now is similar to the Impreza. Subaru continues to allow borrowing of the innermost lower anchors to install a car seat in the center, but the 2018’s introduction of rubber casings around the buckles will make it even more likely that a center LATCH installation will interfere with proper use of the seat belts for 2D & 2P. We’d suggest installing with a seat belt in 2C to avoid interfering with adjacent seat belts.
Since 2016 Subaru has stated in their manual that they allow borrowing of the innermost lower anchors to secure a car seat in the center – but they did not provide the spacing between these anchors (it is wider than 11 inches). Learn more about center LATCH here.
